OTC Markets Group Inc., operator of premier US financial marketplaces, is seeking an overnight remote Financial Application Support Engineer (FIX and other systems) to support our suite of products. The individual will be responsible for the overnight shift (8pm to 4am EST) to ensure the reliability of our business's critical application processes and their associated infrastructure. They will be assisting internal and external clients by acting as a first point of contact for both application and data queries. Ideally, the hired individual will have experience installing, administering, and supporting equities FIX connectivity and related applications.

This is a fully remote position with work hours of 8 pm - 4 am EST. Candidates within commutable distance to our NYC office will be given preference, with candidates from the following states considered as a next priority: CA, District of Columbia, FL, MD, VA. Candidates in other states will not be considered.

The Application Support Engineer is responsible for performing the following tasks:

• Installing, administering, and supporting trading system applications
• Documenting and maintaining run-books and recovery procedures for applications and services
• Monitoring of processes, connections, and trade flows
• Serve as SME on application support and liaise with other teams with regards to incident escalations, application rollouts, and integrating applications with production and nonproduction infrastructure
• FIX onboarding, trade support and FIX connectivity production troubleshooting. 
• Supporting Sales and Trading Support teams with client inquiries
• Help identify methods to improve service resiliency
• Monitoring of regulatory reporting obligations
 
Qualifications:

• We are seeking candidates with a thorough understanding of the trading lifecycle. Our suite of products requires extensive knowledge of financial industry terminology and an understanding of the underlying finance workflows
• An ideal candidate would have 3-5 years prior exposure to providing clients with technical support, troubleshooting and/or application support. We may also consider individuals who have experience in Client Trade Operations within a Financial Service firm.

Required Skills:
• FIX protocol/FIX application support
• Trade support experience
• UNIX/Linux command line knowledge
• Scripting/programming (bash, Perl, Python, or equivalent)
• Basic level knowledge of networking

Preferred Skills:
• Unix/Linux systems administration
• AWS support and deployment (EC2 administration, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Market data feed/multicast experience
• Knowledge of SQL
• TCP/UDP troubleshooting experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills -- very important!

Education:
• Bachelors highly preferred; CS degree a plus.


Salary offered: $120,000 to $150,000, depending on experience
