OTC Markets Group Inc. is seeking a technical project manager to work within our technology organization.  The project management team is responsible for ensuring our public facing and internal applications are delivered on time and within budget.  This is an opportunity to work with the technology and business teams to deliver products that will impact the company and our customers.

We are looking for someone who has experience managing both web development projects and server-side JAVA projects, has a solid understanding of both web and JAVA development technologies and who is looking to make an impact at a small company with an established reputation for quality. We pride ourselves in producing high quality software. This role will work with engineering, the business stakeholders and at times senior management, therefore exposure in the organization is high.  The role may require travel to Washington DC one or two days a month at most.

Our successful candidate will:

  • Track and manage the technical details of multiple projects through their entire lifecycle (business strategy, design, development, QA, implementation, deployment, and maintenance).
  • Plan and coordinate project schedules, goals and milestones as well as make project assignments.
  • Collaborate with the business stake holders on the feature set specifications.
  • Adhere to budgets and keep projects on track for successful completion within the specification requirements.
  • Manage scope creep.
  • Co-manage the queue of development projects across all our development teams.
  • Orchestrate QA efforts for the projects.
  • Ensure the company standards within the technology department are adhered to.
  • Create technical documentation as needed and report on progress of the projects.
  • Ensure timely and effective delivery of the solutions into production.
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.
  • Work with the business stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered according to the specifications.

  • 3-5 years in the capacity of a technical PM.
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication.
  • Proven ability to work with individuals at all organization levels.
  • Proven ability to drive large scale projects with high collaboration and thought leadership.
  • Excellent decision-making skills and the ability to work under continual deadline pressure.
  • Ability to organize and document multiple concurrent projects.
  • Ability to develop detailed project plans, in alignment with the technology teams, including development, QA and infrastructure.
  • Prior experience with software delivery, training, and customer support.
  • Relational database knowledge preferred.
  • Experience in Agile project management a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including patience, flexibility, consideration, discretion, tact, confidence and effectiveness in dealing with people.
  • Experience with project management/ticketing/bug tracking systems (JIRA, Confluence).
  • Experience with Microsoft Project.
  • A practical understanding of JAVA, HTML, JavaScript.


Nice to Haves:

  • 3+ years in the Financial Services sector.
